Product Description
The Alnico (Aluminum, Nickel, Cobalt) family was introduced in the 1930’s. It’s characterized by excellent temperature stability, high residual induction, relatively high energies and resistant to corrosion. These were the first materials specifically designed for permanent magnets to be used in meters and instruments commercially.
Alnico is vailable in both cast and sintered forms. Sintered Alnico offer slightly lower Magnetic properties but better mechanical characteristics than cast Alnico. These materials are brittle, hard and cannot effectively be machined by conventional techniques other than by grinding.

The Alnico material (composed predominantly of aluminum, nickel, and cobalt with minor amounts of other elements including titanium and copper) is manufactured through either a Casting or Sintering process. Compared to modern materials alnico has a low coercivity. The main advantage of alnico is the very low temperature coefficient and the wide temperature range from -273 Celsius to more than +400 Celsius for practical use.

 Name: AlNiCo magnets
 Advantages:
AlNiCo magnets are very good in temperature properties , its temperature coefficient is very low, so the change of magnetic properties is low under high temperature. The maximum
working temperature can be as high as 550 º C .
AlNiCo magnets have good corrosion resistance characteristic . No coating is needed for
surface protection.

disadvantages:
The coercive force of AlNiCo magnets is very low , so it can be easily effected by reverse
magnetic force, impact or touched by iron. This means that they can be easily demagnetized
by external influences. thus  , AlNiCo magnets should not be stored and packed with the same
poles opposing each other.  open circuit, the ration of length/diameter (L/D) should be at least
4: 1. With shorter length, AlNiCo magnets are  unstable  in open circuit.
